SOLVEX® Bipolar Hip Prosthesis System

The SOLVEX® Bipolar Hip Prosthesis is a modular, dual-articulation system engineered for the effective treatment of femoral neck fractures and other degenerative or traumatic conditions of the hip joint. Its advanced design minimizes stress on the acetabulum and femur, making it especially suitable for elderly and osteoporotic patients.

System Components

Bipolar Head

  • Incorporates a dual-articulation mechanism:
     • Inner articulation between the femoral head and a polyethylene liner
     • Outer articulation between the metal shell and the acetabular surface

  • This design reduces cumulative friction, distributes load more evenly, and enhances implant longevity.

  • The outer shell is fabricated from high-strength cobalt-chromium (CoCr) alloy, ensuring high wear resistance and structural integrity.

  • The inner liner, made from medical-grade polyethylene, provides a smooth low-friction interface with the femoral head, minimizing particle generation.

Femoral Stem

  • Constructed from Cobalt-Chrome-Molybdenum (CoCrMo) alloy for optimal strength and biocompatibility.

  • Available in both cemented and cementless designs to accommodate varying bone quality.
     • Cementless stems feature porous surfaces or hydroxyapatite coatings to promote osseointegration and long-term biological fixation.

  • Modular neck options enable intraoperative adjustment of leg length and hip offset to restore anatomical alignment.

Key Features

🔄 Dual Articulation Technology
The bipolar mechanism reduces direct contact with the acetabulum, minimizing wear and prolonging implant survival.

🧩 Modular Configurations
Multiple stem sizes, head diameters, and neck lengths allow for patient-specific customization, improving biomechanics and reducing the risk of post-operative complications.

🦴 Fixation Flexibility
Surgeons can choose between cemented and cementless stems based on patient bone density and intraoperative requirements, optimizing outcomes for both high-risk and active patients.

🔧 Reduced Acetabular Stress
By shifting articulation to the prosthesis itself, the acetabular cartilage is preserved, particularly beneficial for patients with intact acetabula.

The SOLVEX® Bipolar Hip Prosthesis System provides a clinically proven, mechanically sound solution for partial hip arthroplasty, delivering stability, functional recovery, and long-term durability.
